AKSA GROUP in Zambia
AKSA GROUP had a successful initial visit to Zambia, in October 2013. Progress was made on several fronts after meeting with the Vice President of Zambia, Dr Guy Scott, the Deputy Minister of Energy, the Minister of Labour, the Minister of Transport and the Deputy Minister of Finance. The AKSA GROUP Team was also invited, and attended the opening ceremony of the Parliament of Zambia. A follow up visit is scheduled for January 2014. His Excellency Excellency Mr. John Mahama was interviewed by the national TV media after a meeting with Mr. Ed Fast, The Minister of International Trade for Canada, Her Excellency Mrs. Trudy Kernigham, the Ghana High Commissioner to Canada, the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) as well as the AKSA GROUP Team. AKSA Group Meets with His Excellency Yoweri Museveni – President of Uganda
On May 14th, 2013, AKSA Group met with His Excellency Yoweri Musevini, President of Uganda. The meeting was held at the State House in Enteebe, Uganda and was attended by the AKSA Group, Canadian Commercial Corporation, and various Ministers of Uganda’s Government. AKSA Group’s Chairman and CEO, Nurdin (Dinu) Samji, and AKSA Group President, Kamaal Samji, had the opportunity to discuss the following upcoming projects in Uganda:
  • Construction of a 132 MW Thermal Power Plant
  • Revitalization and upgrade of the Entebbe International Airport

The Honourable Edward Fast, Minister of International Trade, visits Ghana
Last January 2013 the Honourable Edward (Ed) Fast, the Canadian Minister of International Trade, led a 29 member Canadian business delegation to Ghana. Minister Ed Fast expressed Canada's interest in lending Canadian expertise to Ghana, as well as investing in the country. On January 31st, 2013, AKSA Group met with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana. The meeting was held at the President's offices in Accra, Ghana and was attended by a Canadian Delegation led by the Honourable Edward Fast, Minister of International Trade for Canada, and Her Excellency Trudy Kernighan, Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana. Newly Appointed Minister of Finance, Ghana
The newly appointed Minister of Finance, Mr. Seth Terkper, was sworn in on January 30th, 2013 by Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama. Mr. Seth Terkper held his first meeting as the offical new Minister of Finance on the same day with AKSA Group, CCC, and Dessau, to discuss key infrastructure projects in Ghana. AKSA Group Signs Agreement with JV Driver
On December 11th, 2012, AKSA Group signed an agreement with JV Driver to collaborate on the rehabilitation of the Entebbe Airport project in Uganda, for which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in September of last year. The AKSA and JV Driver delegates plan to visit Uganda in January 2013 to introduce the Canadian team to the Government of Uganda and proceed with Phase 1 of the project.
