Takoradi T3 Thermal Power Project

The Thermal Power Plant at Aboadze, known as Takoradi-3 (T3) a 132 Mega Watt combined cycle gas turbine package, is now completed. The project has been valued at USD $250M. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was executed between the Government of Canada and Government of Ghana in 2009, which was followed by the ground-breaking ceremony in January of 2010. The project was completed in November 2013 and the date for commercial operation (COD) was set for March 2013. The project, developed by AKSA Group, was constructed by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, with Magellan Aerospace and HPI being the leading suppliers.

Kpone Unity Container Port Terminal in Tema

The Container Port is a 40-acre site in Kpone, approximately 7 km from the Tema, currently held by Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority. AKSA Group, working closely with Canadian Commerical Corporation seeks to develop and coordinate the whole process in addition to raising the anticipated 100% project financing for the construction of the facility. It is anticipated that the new facility in Kpone would accommodate containerized imported vehicles as well as non-containerized vehicles.

The estimated total cost of this project is the US $128.8 million and would be 100 % funded.

TeknoScan Systems at Container Terminal Port in Tema

TeknoScan Systems Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of advanced Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) solutions with narcotics capability. Using different techniques, such as Gas Chromatography, Ion Mobility Spectrometry, their products detect and identify banned and hazardous materials through the sampling and analyzing of trace vapours and particles in the air. Teknoscan’s methods are non-invasive, whether screening cars, trucks, containers, air cargo containers or packages.

AKSA Group and TeknoScan Systems Inc. are working on implementing this technology into Container Terminal Port in Tema.

Switchback Park Project in Accra

Switchback Park Project combines a series of high class mixed use development – two residential apartment blocks, two office blocs and a Five star intercontinental brand hotel with a complementary Three star Holiday Inn Hotel. The project is being developed on 17 Acres land in Accra. The estimated total investment is over USD $210 million.

Western and Central Rail Line Development Project, Ghana

The Western and Central Rail Line Development is a project aimed at the complete re-construction of the Western and Central Rail Lines of the Ghana railway network and the implementation of an operations concession to provide freight rail transport service on the redeveloped lines. The project will be implemented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), a crown corporation of the Government of Canada, working with AKSA Group. AKSA Group has already signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) on August 19th, 2017.

Electric Transmission Line, Ghana

The transmission grid comprises a matrix of substations and transmission lines. It includes over 4,000 kilometers of high voltage transmission lines operating at 161kV and 69kV and the interconnection to Ivory Coast at 225kV.

AKSA Group is working closely with GRIDCo Ghana. MOU has been signed on September 18, 2017.
